Trail First Aid....for the Horse of Course!

Trail First Aid....for the Horse of Course!
Safety for the horse is something a lot of equine enthusiasts seem to leave on the back burner.  However, if you were to be stranded in the middle of the woods, packing an elk off a cold mountain near dusk or even in an arena and your four legged friend that you are relying upon for transportation and he needed help, would you be prepared?  Do you have the knowledge and carry the proper first aid for him/her? After 30 years of riding horses, training and riding all over in numerous obstacles you will always learn something new. You always find yourself...

Wildlife Photography Tips

Wildlife Photography Tips
This is a personal challenge for me. This is what I have found throughout my experiences. DSLR cameras are difficult to beat in this area. The larger zoom lenses work best for anything from bugs to moose.Best Light. Early morning and late afternoon are best. But if you can get a glimpse of that big deer that jumps out of the woods and into your back yard , I say, point and shoot whenever you can.Don't avoid overcast days cloudy conditions often produce better images than the harsh light of a sunny day.Hunting blinds. Cooler

Cooler

If you want to get to know someone,  look in there cooler. Do they have the cooler that when opened smells so bad you dare not touch what ever has died in it from last camp season. Or,  is there a half opened bag of what looks to be hotdogs floating, but has since turned white from water saturation and two cans of Old Milwaukee that sunk to the bottom....

Taking Better Trophy Photos

Taking Better Trophy Photos
Everyone likes to take a photo of that trophy buck, fish, turkey, bear, etc., etc. Unfortunately many hunters and fisherman don’t understand how to take a great photo of their trophy that highlights the animal, and where it was taken.  A lot of us either don’t understand or don’t take the time.  I myself have taken photos of my “Big Buck” on the back of a trailer, or my “Huge Bass” in front of the garage.  Even though I am a photographer and I know what it takes, sometimes I just don’t take the time.  The memories just are not the...
